GOING THROUGH THE STORM

Natural storms can be a frightening experience and can also cause much damage to property and our own welfare.  Over the years I have witnessed many storms, but fortunately have never been physically harmed.

As I thought about storms,  I was reminded about the disciples and how they were caught in the situation on Lake Galilee and how they dealt with it.

Mathew 8 :23 - 27 The Passion Translation  says:

Jesus Calms a Storm

“They all got into a boat and began to cross over to the other side of the lake.  And Jesus, exhausted, fell asleep.  “Suddenly a violent storm developed with waves so high the boat was about to be swamped.  Yet Jesus continued to sleep soundly.  The disciples woke him up, saying, “Save us, Lord! We’re going to die!”  But Jesus reprimanded them.   Why are you gripped with fear?  Where is your faith?  Then he stood up and rebuked the storm and said, “Be still.”  And instantly it became calm.”  The disciples were astonished by this miracle and said to one another, “Who is this Man?  Even the wind and the waves obey his Word.”

“Who is this Man” you may well ask.  His name is Jesus. The One who can calm every storm in your life, he is the “anchor” of our soul.  Just as the disciples cried out to Him in their time of trouble, we can as well.  For He knows all of your needs and also troubles. For His Word says He will never leave nor forsake you.  Jesus challenged the disciples regarding their faith, we also need to walk by faith not by sight which can cause fear.  Just let go of all fear in your storm and put your trust in the rock Christ Jesus who is your “anchor” at all times.

GOD BLESS
